About the Subi East Redevelopment Area

BACKGROUND - A SNAPSHOT

In August 2017, the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) extended the original Subiaco Redevelopment Area, to include Subiaco Oval, Kitchener Park (home to the new Inner City College), Mueller Park and the site of the former Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH), as well as land within the railway reserve area around West Leederville train station. The resultant redevelopment area now comprises 36.5ha.

To help shape a draft vision for this redevelopment area, extensive consultation and investigations were undertaken with key stakeholders and industry experts, alongside direct engagement with 23,000 households and businesses throughout 2018.

Consultation to date

Over the past 12 months, the project team have been working closely with key stakeholders and the wider community to develop a draft vision for Subi East.

As part of that process, we have:

  • surveyed 23,000 households;

  • Received more than 1,500 submissions;

  • Hosted community pop up sessions attended by more than 180 community members;

  • Reached almost 800 people online through our engagement platform; and

  • Met with numerous stakeholders.

Your input has helped to shape the vision concept. This early plan seeks to reflect some of the key areas for further investigation by the project team over the coming months.

We would now like to hear your thoughts on the Vision Concept to ensure that we have heard you correctly.
