Community Reference Group

Overview / Get Involved / Public Realm / Community Reference Group

A Community Reference Group (CRG) has been created to represent the local community and guide the design and features of the public realm.

Left to Right: Annette Ellerby, Denver D'cruz, Steph Smith, Jim Moro, Courtney Black, Peter Dorizzi, Mark Story, Yadi Gibson, Kathryn Blomley, Don Poynton, Barbara Daniels, Darryl Fuller, Juliet Wills, Andrew Mort, Peter Feast, Luc Blomme, Michelle Meuwese, Callum McGougan, Norman Liddelow, Jeffrey Williams

The CRG is made up of 20 members including 15 randomly selected community members; and five representatives from stakeholder organisations and community groups.

We received a high level of interest in the CRG with a total of 82 nominations from community members that live, work or regularly visit the City of Joondalup. To ensure we selected a cross-section of the community, three people were randomly selected from each of the following categories:

  • Immediate residents
  • 18 - 29 years
  • 30 - 44 years
  • 45 - 59 years
  • 60 years and over

The nomination process was independently audited by an external probity officer to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.

We also have a representative from the following five stakeholder organisations and community groups:

  • City of Joondalup
  • WA Police
  • Inclusion Solutions
  • Joondalup Community Coast Care Forum
  • Joondalup Business Association
